Sarah you did a great job but I would have liked to see more of your roughs and discussed your work so that they could be worked into some alternate solutions. You had a great letter and some good roughs to start with but some of your designs could have been better. Designs 1 Line – they are both very bold and read as line I feel there is a sense of sameness? Design 2 value – your use of overlapping different shapes give a sense of depth and therefore the value. WORKS WELL Explain use of value – the 1st looks like a pattern or texture Design 3 shape – excellent use of movement and negative and positive space Design 4 size – they both seem to be the same the way the first goes off the side is very bold and playful Design 5 texture - good top one with the cut off of the shapes into a defined space therefore there is a comparison . the 2nd one is too contained looks like shape Design 6 direction – very unusual the bottom one is excellent. The way you have made the lines white and repeated movement *****
